Passover & Easter or #3 of 3 that you haven't seen this month!

Easter Sunday, really tall mountain, really scary drive (just for me)

While the McCoys were here we celebrated passover with a Sedar meal. We will do it again in the years to come (Lord willing) maybe a little more by the book. However, our attempt was a blessing to us all. With several hours of blessings, prayers, glasses of wine, food, and meditation on our Heavenly Father and His Son; dinner was sublime. Yes, because by 10pm we were famished but also because it just was!

Nick and his people

Easter Sunday was a surprise. We have not traditionally celebrated "Easter", rather fumbled around with several ideas, ending with a lot of conviction and very little celebrating. I hope that all changes. But this year our King Jesus, on top of His already blessing us with salvation, blessed us with a uniquely individual day

I was unprepared for the very sheer drive up the mountain for our hike. I also was unaware that we were on our way to share communion, have an Easter egg hunt, and do this by a warm fire on a very chilly day way up high, during an earthquake.

I am such a baby. That is my commentary on the sheer drive on the lane.5 road with two way traffic. Mom had an idea and prepared for a lovely communion time. Walking to the picnic site basket of communion/childrens snack items in tow we were offered an "inheritance" by the elderly couple who were packing up to leave; a blazing fire. Maybe you will get an idea of how cool it was high up in the hills on this overcast, rainy, possible snow flurry on the mountain top day; from the pictures. A fire was such a nice touch! Bible reading, prayer, communion...and an egg hunt. Fantastic!

Lillian hoped to hunt for eggs. I had not planned for such an event. But, her loving Heavenly Father had. The children decided to have a pretend egg hunt. While rummaging through low bushes Lillian found this lovely died egg. Momma K decided to pray that Samuel find one also; he did!

He certainly does do beyond what I can imagine. But, I am certain that He gives us the desires of our hearts. Even if they come in tiny and possibly imperceptible packages.

...Oh! The earthquake! Looking out over the edge of the mountain I heard thunder. There was no thunder, maybe it was a plain (who knows). But I recalled having had a dream the night before about an earthquake. When I got home I saw the news, there had been an earthquake while we were Eastering up in the sky. Anyway, just a querky peek into the way I stitch life together.

Re-creation & Rec-reation

The Boys II

Keely and Brad came to Mom's for a visit. Janna also showed up for a surprise visit. That is 4 out of 7 children for my mother under 1 roof. With #1 daughter and #7 son, with #1 grand-son and #9 grand-daughter...+#11(surprise guys) in incubation (#2 in utero for 2010). For a grand total of 15 humans for 3 days in 1 house. Hence my re-creation title. We confused the American past time. "No, folks, that is recreation; as in Horse Shoe or Bocce ball".
Yeyup...We swim a different current in this family!

San Louis Obisbo

We managed to get out and enjoy the area and each other with a few cars, car seats, diaper bags, coolers, strollers, blankies, pacifiers, and changes of clothes (for accidental dog poo smears or the boy who throws himself into very cold water every chance he can); all for a surprisingly stress free(mostly) time.

Daddy & Kiddo hike

I love these people. So it comes as no surprise that I am happy we plan to take over the world; one little person at a time.

Boys and a Maple

While beholding the abundance of our Saviors creation, we truly enjoyed the time to just be family and sort of soak in the implications of that ever evolving reality; with smiles and 2 recycle dumpsters full of empty wine bottles.

Sorry to keep you waiting

Samuel likes sushi and seaweed, eating with chopsticks and noodles

We have been doing a lot. We have been in California for over a month and have packed several months of activity in. Hiking, beaching, visiting, testing, climbing, scooting, biking, schooling.

Sophia loves the eating w/the big kids

I think this is my son getting a tick on his head.

Taking a snack break on the hill top (maybe this is where the tick came from)

We celebrated our 10th anniversary last month. I ate lamb and ostrich, it was very yummy. If you have ever seen he movie "Sideways", we ate at that bar. That is to say, I paid 14 dollars for a glass of wine. I really don't care much about movie sites and that sort of thing, ie Neverland ranch which is right around the corner and is really incognito (and no longer Neverland Ranch). I love my husband, ten years flies by when there is so much concentrated focus on wee ones. Like looking up from an engrossing book only to find that the day is gone...uh, I haven't really had that experience for the last ten years; but fondly remember those days. And, I am sure I will, when I am (well 50+ because at this rate I won't be looking up until then) older, look up and wonder where all the time went and how engrossingly beautiful the story was (sigh!). So, ten years, you have been good to me.

Part of the "good to me" is this; #1. I am so proud of her. I love the atmosphere of empowerment. She had the expression of freedom the day she became training wheel free.
