It seems like it has taken forever to have confidence that summer is here and is going to actually happen for a few weeks. Well, at least spring is here and is going to happen for a few weeks. What ever you might be used to we are having a lovely, springy, summer, perfect actually. June was marked by visitors, July so far has been marked by some family firsts. First dog (who will be going home soon yippy), first company picnic, first business travel, first Ballet lesson, and maybe a few other firsts. Anyway, in no particular order, here they are. The first picture is from Nicks company picnic. This slide was like, two stories tall. I have a few pictures of Lillian on it also, those are cute but really the great thing was how crazy this not quite two year old was about it. He couldn't stop and he wanted to go alone. I went down with him when Nick got tiered of it. It was then that I could appreciate how wild my little boy can be.

This is Niki, the very nice Husky who has been living with us for the past week, plus. Samuel recently, had a nasty run in with a cat. So, this is as close as he was willing to get to Niki for the first week. However, he is on the floor with him today and saying "NO, Nini...NO,NO" with satisfaction.

Lillian has been wonderful with him. She is very pleased to have him to exhort to good deeds. A mark of a well trained dog I guess but he listens to her. She will be sad to see him go Tuesday.

This is from the picnic. Lillian went swiming and Samuel and Nick sorta went swimming.

We have had fun late in the afternoon with the hose. Now every time I water the garden (and usually that is at seven or eight in the morning), Samuel thinks it must be time to get wet. He is spending a good portion of his summer shivering and with purple lips. It is rarely over 62 at that time in the morning.

Summer wouldn't be as fun without ridiculously large hot dogs, ice cream (taco in this case), and watermelon. I have discovered that children and dogs can eat just about anything and keep going.

Okay, this is so funny! Janna was making popcorn. Before she put the top on the pot a kernel spit at her and hit her in the face. So Lillian decided to help but not with out adequate protection. This is her own invention, a front pack or a face mitt. Brilliant!

Lillian documenting. Hello every one.

Lillian getting into the spirit of the Olympic trials. We made a deal that if she stuck her face under the water in the bathtub i would buy her a pair of goggles.

This is my solution to sunscreen. It just seemed right at the time. He is so fair. I guess this is also my solution to a wading pool. Wow, it is clear were Lillian gets her resourcefulness.
